It’s time of National championship and of prestigious results for athletes who ride with San Marco. In Spain is Marta Vilajosana of team Dilà-Kuota the new champion. In Women Elite category the 34 years old catalan rider achieved the title at the finishing line in Castro Urdiales, after a hard fought and spectacular race of 91 km lenght. Vilajosana won with 36” of advantage over Lopez Morales, Gil Parra, Garcia Antequera and Iturriaga: “It was amazing, a great happiness above all because it’s the first title of the career for me. I want to dedicate it to my family and to everyone who supported me in this sport adventure”.

Triumph for paralympics athletes who ride with San Marco in the time-trial, that appointed the new italian champions. Indeed, during the Settimana Tricolore in Imola, among the bikers with disabilities achieved the first place in their categories: Fabio Triboli (Lc1), Fabrizio Macchi (Lc3) and for women tandem Cinzia Coluzzi with her guide Barbara Lancioni. Triboli is very happy and he describes his trial as “one of the best race of ever”, looking now with trust at his next aim of the season: the world championship in Arona on september. Fabrizio Macchi celebrates his umpteenth three-coloured title: after the road italian championship, he confirms to be unbeatable also in his specialty, the time-trial.

The off-road teams sponsored by San Marco are more and more successful. Indeed, the former master world champion Moreno Trabucchi achieved the win in one of the classical italian MTB race, the Bardonecchia Mountain Classic, having ranked third in absolute and first in his category M2 in the national trial on the length of 45 km. Also the race of Simone Diviggiano was good: he chose the track of 61 km valid as International trial, ranking ninth and confirming his good form. These are important results, above all because they arrived few days before the Italian Marathon Championship.

First and second place for the bikers who ride with San Marco saddles at Granfondo dei Cimbri. On The Altopiano di Asiago the win went to Leonardo Paez of TX Active-Bianchi team, who came first ahead of Martino Fruet of L’Arcobaleno Carraro Team, detached of 1’40”. The Colombian, fresh winner of Internazionali d’Italia, exploited his favourite ground, the climb, to make the difference and to leave behind his opponents. The podium is completed by Walter Costa, who arrived at the finishing line ahead of Gilberto Simoni.

San Marco congratulates the Colavita/Sutter Home Men’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light, because it is the first cycling team in the US, according to the latest NRC team standings from USA Cycling. The 12-man squad led by Directeur Sportif Sebastian Alexandre has achieved 25 individual victories and podium finishes to date. Colavita/Sutter Home has also ranked among the top three in team classifications for nearly every major stage race this season. “We are thrilled to reach the top spot,” said Alexandre. “Teamwork is what makes us successful so the first ranking really reflects the contributions of every rider in our squad.”
